I feel like it’ll be easier to teach my 9-year-old daughter about all this and how she can protect herself than my 6-year-old son on how to be a good and empathetic young man.

I’ve spoken at length to my husband about this (who is so anti all this/ Trump etc and has been before his first presidency) and we agree: we need to ensure the little guy understands what it is to be a kind man who understands and cares for women and will stand up for them without giving up his masculinity (in a good way).

Maybe having an older sister and very aware parents will help, maybe we can’t control that much. He’s so sweet and kind and adores everyone and I hope this always stays with him. I worry about the world our kids will be living in.
