Bravo, yes! Your dad sounds amazing and kind and compassionate and I am sure so are you. I walk my kids to school every day and one of us picks them up later, even though most scoot or walk alone or in groups. We have gone against the grain because our kids want us to walk with them and it’s an amazing way to bond first thing. Why wouldn’t I?
I was also more of a helicopter mum when they were younger and I don’t care what people say. My kids are becoming super amazing little people and their independence is coming when they’re ready. They just needed a little more time, especially my 9 year old and I wasn’t going to push her before she was ready.
I’ve totally dropped off things in school that we’ve forgotten. I wish my parents would have done the same.
